This 100-question Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS) Practice Exam mirrors the actual CFPS exam in question type, content, weighting, and difficulty, and was written to the same specifications as the actual CFPS exam. The Practice Exam uses retired CFPS exam questions, or new practice questions written by the exam committee. For a complete list of topics covered on the CFPS Practice Exam, please familiarize yourself with the CFPS Candidate Handbook Examination Area Content Weighting section found on the NFPA.org/CFPS web page.

You have access to the CFPS Practice Exam for 90 days, and are allotted 5 attempts. You may take a maximum of 7 hours to complete each attempt before the test will time out and your answers will be submitted for scoring. Candidates wishing to take this practice exam under similar time constraints to the actual CFPS exam should take the practice exam in one sitting, and in no more than three hours.

When taking the Practice Exam, you will receive feedback indicating if you answered each question correctly or incorrectly, along with the content domain from which the question was pulled. The feedback does not include full explanations of why an answer is correct or incorrect, but the page reference used for each question is provided for you. All references come from the Fire Protection Handbook®, 20th Edition, 2008, Fifth Printing.

Taking the CFPS Practice Exam may help you become familiar with the structure and content of the actual CFPS exam. Your results should act as an indication of potential strengths and weaknesses in your knowledge of the content covered by the actual CFPS exam and can help you tailor your study strategy.
