Your son/daughter is learning about injury prevention through a new campaign called “Keeping Our Kids Safe”. This campaign involves a partnership between the Ontario Fire Service and Ontario's teachers. As a parent/caregiver, you know that constant reinforcement of safety
messages is necessary if we are going to keep our children safe.
Lessons target safety behaviours related to the following:
- Fire Safety
- Bicycle Safety
- Electrical Safety
- Amusement Park Rides
- Smoke Alarms
- Carbon Monoxide
- Fire Drills
- Kitchen/Holiday Safety
- Electrical Safety
By teaching children to recognize and avoid things that put them at
risk, we can help them live fuller and more productive lives. As your
child's caregiver, you can support these efforts by setting a good
example at home.
Background information about each of the above risk areas is provided
below. Please visit the KIDS' CORNER to find activity sheets that can be done jointly with your children and links to the fun interactive safety sites especially designed for them.
This campaign has been made possible through the support of our sponsors so please take a moment to visit their sites.
Please join us in making “Keeping Our Kids Safe” a success.
