35258 Fire and Emergency Services Company Officer 4th Edition (2007)
Author/Publisher: IFSTA ISBN 10: 0-87939-281-9 The 4th edition of Fire and Emergency Services Company Officer reflects not only changes in the NFPA® 1021, Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualifications but also in the IFSTA approach to manual development. Like the previously published Fire and Emergency Services Instructor (7th edition) manual, Company Officer (4th edition) is divided into two parts, each based on the appropriate Fire Officer Levels I and II. This division makes it easier for the student to read and the instructor to teach. Appendices, glossary, and a list of suggested readings are also parts of the new manual. Visually, the new manual contains changes in the chapter title pages. Divider pages introduce each chapter with a list of the NFPA® job-performance requirement (JPR) numbers addressed in the chapter, learning objectives, and a list of chapter contents. Developed in conjunction with the manual is a customizable curriculum reproduced on CD-ROM. A lesson plan based on each chapter permits the instructor to expand or modify the lessons to meet local requirements. PowerPoint® presentations are designed to permit illustrations to be added or replaced with local images. Skills sheets are also included as well as lesson quizzes and tests. An Instructor Resource kit is also available, containing a copy of the manual, curriculum, student study guide, clip art on CD-ROM, and a blank CD-ROM disc to store the locally customized curriculum. 35918 Essentials of Fire Department Customer Service
Essentials of Fire Department Customer Service Writing in a humorous conversational style, Chief Alan Brunacini explains the application of commonsense customer service concepts to the fire service. Essentials of Fire Department Customer Service is basic reading for every firefighter, officer, and administrator. The author describes his customer service approach: "Most firefighters come from the factory with a strong action orientation and a natural inclination to focus more on the hard technical-tactical part of the job, rather than on the soft human stuff. That may explain why, up until now, even though we basically have done a good job with our customers, we have pretty much skipped talking, teaching, and certainly writing about the human aspect of service delivery. Perhaps…the time has come to document some of the basic human relations details involved in fire department customer service." 1st Edition (1996) Fire Protection Publications 131 pp.

36197 Incident Command System Model Procedures Guide for Incidents Involving Structural Fire Fighting, High Rise, Multi Casualty, Highway, & Managing Large-Scale Incidents Using NIMS-ICS
0-87939-305-X 978-0-87939-305-2 538 pp. Description: This manual combines the information from four existing National Incident Management System Consortium (NIMSC) Model Procedures Guides, plus new information on managing large-scale incidents, into one comprehensive, NIMS-compliant book. As with all NIMSC model procedures, this information was developed and approved by a broad group of national experts on these topics. The manual includes basic information on NIMS ICS and then detailed information on how to apply it to structure fires, high-rise fires, major EMS incidents, roadway incidents, and large-scale incidents of all types. This includes concepts such as unified command, area command, joint operations centers (JOC), multi-agency coordination centers (MACC) and much more. This is the definitive text on the application of NIMS ICS to common types of emergency incidents.

36198 Special Operations-Incidents Involving Hazardous Materials/WMD, Structural Collapse, Wildland, and Managing Large-Scale Incidents using NIMS-ICS 1st Edition (2008)
Author/Publisher: IFSTA ISBN 978-087939311-3 The 2nd of two publications, Special Operations-Incidents Involving Hazardous Materials/WMD, Structural Collapse, Wildland, and Managing Large-Scale Incidents using NIMS-ICS includes incidents pertaining to wildland fires, hazardous materials incidents, USAR/structural collapse incidents, and other types of large scale incidents. The primary advantage of using this publication as opposed to free publications from government sources is that the NIMSC publications go well beyond providing simple information on the ICS framework. These publications go the next step and apply ICS to specific types of incident. These examples can be used in training personnel to do the same: take ICS and efficiently apply it to the incident at hand. Pages: 428 Please note: the first publications is called Incident Command System Model Procedures Guide for Incidents Involving Structural Fire Fighting, High Rise, Multi Casualty, Highway, & Managing Large-Scale Incidents Using NIMS-ICS (1st Edition) 36197.
